Way Past Due!

It's been four busy months since I've posted pictures. A lot has happened in the last four months and I'm sure I already forgot half of it.
Quick update...

Grady....Grady is a little over 5 months old. He is wearing anywhere from 6-9 month clothes and if he doesn't slow down his growth, he and Landry will be wearing the same size eventually! Grady is a really good baby and really smiley. Every time he laughs he gives himself the hiccups. He gets mad when the bottle is taken away to burp him...REALLY mad! It's actually a little humorous. He's getting ready to cut his bottom two teeth. I can't believe how fast he is growing...it goes by even faster with the second child!

Landry...
Landry turned 2 in August. Landry is a ham and likes to do things to make us laugh! He is really starting to repeat words...his newest was tonight, "Aggie" when we watched A&M win against Alabama! Landry has a girlfriend at school..."La La", which means Ella. The teachers say they hold hands, hug and kiss all the time! And when we are home he often asks where she is.  Landry had his tonsils and adenoids removed a week ago due to sleep apnea, but his recovery was so much better than we anticipated. He was usually in a good mood, happy, running around (don't tell the doctor), and usually had no problem eating soft foods or drinking juice. There were just a few rough patches, but all in all it was definitely worth him getting better sleep.

Jeff...
Jeff was promoted at SAWS to a Supervisor position and oversees crews that clean the sewer mains. He is the "Administrative Supervisor" which means he also handles scheduling each week of about 70 employees...its the least favorite part of his new job, but he is enjoying the change of pace, and the challenges that come along on a daily basis. He's got a few good perks; every other weekend he gets Friday and Monday off (because he works four 10 hour days) and he has a company truck to drive to/from work since he is occasionally on-call.

Me...
I feel like things have finally gotten into a new groove. I'm just loving being a mom of two! It's definitely busier, but Jeff is so good with the boys and sharing the household chores and responsibilities with the boys, so it makes it easy to enjoy. Grady has been coming to work with me and it is so fun to see G-maw and G-paw enjoying their time with Grady as they did with Landry. Jeff and I went to Port Aransas for a long weekend in September and got some much needed R&R.

I sifted through pictures of the last four months and included some highlights and miscellaneous pictures....they are not in order, but I've added captions to most. Enjoy!

Playing in the sand at G-maw and G-paw's lake house.

Landry's first time to hold his little brother....we put it off for a while since Landry was sick when Grady came home from the NICU.

One of my favorite pics. All dressed up in lake gear, ready to go fishing for the first time!

My three boys :) Just kidding.

Grady is about 2 months old here.

He's about 3 months old here.

Landry and G-paw working on some wiring at the shop.

Enough said.

This was taken a few months ago...Grady is much thicker these days.

Landry was just about to kiss his little brother, but I missed the shot.

About 3 months old here.

Hubba Hubba

Jeff's parents came in town in August to meet Grady and for Landrys birthday. This is Karen's (Mimi's) first time to hold Grady.

Jim worked on our lighting in our garage, he had a good helper.

Mimi, Papa and the boys.

He loves his blocks. Landry has been sleeping in his "big boy bed" for a few months now, so grady has the crib now.

G-maw and Grady at the shop.

He probably gave himself the hiccups here from laughing.

Landry LOVES to watch "choo choo's" and tractors on Youtube.

Aunt Courtney and Grady. Courtney and Chad are due for their first baby in December, her name is Ryan. They also moved into a house 2 doors down from us so now we are neighbors! I know the kids will have lots of fun together - we are so excited!!

Landry likes to wear his helmet that Jim and Karen gave him for his Strider Bike.

Grady and his cousin Bailey (2nd cousin).

G-paw and Grady at the shop.

Daddy's Best Friend.

We took Landry to the zoo in early October. He's waiving bye-bye to the animals...every time we moved on to another animal he waived and blew kisses to the ones we were leaving.

This was the highlight. Actually, Landry didn't care about the crocodile too much, but Jeff loved it.

Jeff and Mini-Jeff.

After the zoo we had our first trip to Chuck-E-Cheese

Grams and Grady. This is a pretty current picture of Grady.

This is pretty current too.

This picture illustrates how big Grady is. Landry was always small and has stayed on the small side, so it is different for us having a big baby.

Halloween Day.

After work, we dressed them as Woody and Buzz from the movie Toy Story. We walked over to Chad and Courtneys house...Landry was unsure of all the attention he received and kept an expressionless face,  but now he wants to wear his costume all the time.

We made one trick-or-treating stop on the way home at our neighbors that are between Chad and Courtney's house and ours. He's never been given real candy before, so he thoroughly enjoyed his chocolate.

This is the morning Landry had his tonsils and adenoids removed. He wasn't allowed to drink or eat anything that morning, so we tried to keep his mind off of it. We went to ride the train at the zoo. He LOVES riding the train! I think this was his 4th time, and then the week after his surgery Jeff took him a few more times (and sometimes rode it 2x's in a row). Good thing it only costs $3.50!

This is after the surgery when we got his room for the night. It was a double room, but THANKFULLY we had it all to ourselves. It was a rough night, but that was the worse of it. He didn't want to put any clothes on for a long time, didn't want to drink anything (understandably) but wanted to hold his cup all night, and that poor hand with the IV...he never set it down on the bed unless he fell asleep.

We finally got some clothes on him and he fell asleep for a few hours - and that was the best sleep he got all night. I ended up "sleeping" in the bed with him all night, but after a good nap when we got home, he was almost normal. By the next day he was running around as usual. Around day 5 he had a little dip (which the doctor warned about - because of the scabbing), but thats all besides some random moodiness. I was surprised that they only sent us home with Tylenol, but we gave it every 5 hours around the clock as instructed and it seemed to do the trick.

Grady Garrett Supplee

Grady was born on June 1st! He was 36 weeks old. He weighed 6lbs 7oz. His length was 19 3/4 inches.

It was a fairly quick and easy labor (thanks to the epidural!). I stopped taking the medicine (Procardia) that I had been taking every 4 hours to prevent labor the previous 6 weeks on Thursday, May 31st in the morning. By 2:00pm, noticeable contractions began. We got to the hospital around 5:30pm and Grady was born at 1:16am. The doctor offered to Jeff that he could help deliver Grady, but Jeff was content with cutting the cord. The doctor was quite humorous and sang "Happy Birthday" to Grady just as he was delivered. Then, I got to hold him a short bit before they examined him.

The NICU nurses were called in the delivery room because Grady was having trouble breathing and they took him to the NICU for monitoring. Shortly after that, he was admitted to the NICU. Despite having the steroid shots (to help develop the lungs) and being 1 week older and almost a pound bigger than Landry, he little lungs were having a harder time than Landry was when he was born. Day by day his lungs developed more and was on the breathing tube for about a week, then they continued to monitor his oxygen levels for another week. He finally came on on June 14th - what a happy day!

Thank you to everyone for your prayers! Although he had rough beginning, Grady is doing great and is thriving...he's already gained about 2 pounds!

Below are pictures of the big day and a few pictures around the house.

On the way to the hospital (for the 4th and LAST time!).
Just waiting...

and waiting...

One of the best moments of my life!

Holding Daddys finger.

Try changing the diaper with all these wires! It's tricky!
We had to gavage feed him for several days before he was breathing well enough to introduce bottle or breast.

I took this picture while holding him...he had just tooted...I thought it was funny.

Children were not allowed in the NICU, so we improvised and showed Landry a fake "Grady" to show him Grady wasn't in Mommy's belly anymore. He's pointing to his "brother" :)

Sorry...I don't know how to rotate the picture in this program :(

Landry loves being the big brother now and "helping" out.
